The online gambling player protection and private standards body eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) is slowly but surely getting closer to its 2006 target of accrediting 100 online gambling sites and poker rooms with its “Play it Safe” seal. This week, the online gambling watchdog group announced that 12 more sites have successfully passed its independently administered probity and operational inspection regime.
The 12 new sites to receive the prestigious award in the online gambling community bring the total to 88. This figure is great for eCOGRA who at the beginning of 2006 announced that it plans on pushing to receive at least 100 seals under its banner by the end of the year. Seven sites controlled by the Tusk Investment Corporation in Australia and another five managed by the Vegas Partner Lounge group received the eCOGRA "Play It Safe" seal for fair gambling and best operational practices.
A spokesperson for the online gambling watchdog group said that they were very excited to be reaching their goal and encouraged other online gambling site managers to approach the group in order to be awarded the seal. He further stressed that it was to the benefit of the entire online gambling community for as many sites as possible to be certified as ‘safe’.
